The jackpot right now
On 30 September 2026, the Grand Lotto pot stood at ₱236.6 million, a serious amount for a game whose minimum is ₱45M. Big rollovers like this bring out the casual bettors, which also means more chance of sharing if you hit.
The record is still the ₱741,176,323.20 won by a single bettor on 29 November 2010. That’s bigger than Ultra Lotto’s single-bettor record of ₱571.6 million from 2023. Not bad for the “smaller” game, ’di ba?
6/55 vs 6/58: which one should you play?
| Grand Lotto 6/55 | Ultra Lotto 6/58 | |
|---|---|---|
| Numbers | 6 from 1–55 | 6 from 1–58 |
| Jackpot odds | 1 in 28,989,675 | 1 in 40,475,358 |
| Minimum jackpot | ₱45M | ₱75M |
| Ticket | ₱25 | ₱25 |
| Draw days | Mon, Wed, Sat | Tue, Fri, Sun |
| 5-number pool | ₱1.4M shared | ₱1.5M shared |
| 3 numbers | ₱60 | ₱100 |
Three fewer numbers make a real difference: 6/55 is about 1.4 times easier to win at the top. The 6/58 has a bigger floor and pays more for 3 numbers. Same price, so it comes down to whether you want better odds or bigger pots. Our Ultra Lotto 6/58 guide has the full 6/58 breakdown.
Worked example: with ₱250 a week, that’s 10 tickets.
- All on 6/55: jackpot odds of 10 in 28,989,675, about 1 in 2.9 million for the week.
- All on 6/58: 10 in 40,475,358, about 1 in 4 million.
Either way, it’s a long shot. Play for the fun of the draw, not as a plan.
Prizes and the 20% tax
The jackpot rolls over, but the 5- and 4-number prizes come from pools shared by all winners in that draw:
- 5 numbers: a ₱1.4M pool. On 21 September 2026 there were 19 winners at ₱73,684.21 each. Before February 2026 it was a flat ₱100,000 per winner.
- 4 numbers: a ₱1.3M pool. One draw had 1,471 winners at ₱883.75 each.
- 3 numbers: a fixed ₱60.
Under the TRAIN law, PCSO prizes over ₱10,000 are subject to a 20% final tax. Prizes of ₱10,000 or less are tax-free.
Worked example:
- 5-number prize of ₱73,684.21: minus 20% (₱14,736.84) = ₱58,947.37 take-home.
- 4-number prize of ₱883.75: under ₱10,000, so you keep it all.
- A ₱236.6M jackpot won alone: minus 20% (₱47.32M) = about ₱189.3 million. Pwede na!
Durian tip: Because the 5-number prize is now a shared pool, a busy draw (big jackpot, lots of tickets) can mean more winners splitting it. Check the official result for the actual amount before you start planning the handaan.
How to buy Grand Lotto tickets officially
PCSO doesn’t sell through casinos or affiliates. Buy at authorized PCSO lotto outlets: choose 6 numbers, pay ₱25 per combination, and keep your ticket safe and dry. PCSO also began a test run of its E-Lotto web platform on 15 December 2023; check pcso.gov.ph for its current status. Lookalike domains that aren’t PCSO exist, so type the official address yourself.
Playing lotto-style games online from the Philippines
- BK8 has a peso account and a Lottery tab with Youbetlotto’s lotto games in the familiar 6/42 to 6/58 formats, 2D, 3D, 4D and 6D, and quick draws every 1, 3 or 5 minutes. These are BK8’s provider games, not PCSO tickets. Its 100% welcome (up to ₱5,000 at 12x deposit + bonus) counts on lottery games too.
- BC.Game runs in pesos, with a Lottery tab (BC Lottery and international draws), a provably fair Keno and up to 500% across your first 4 deposits from ₱200.
- Winna officially lists the Philippines as a supported country. Its provably-fair Keno lets you play a number game any time and verify each round, with instant rakeback from your first bet and $10,000 daily and $50,000 weekly races. Crypto only, so fund it with USDT or BTC.
- theLotter buys official tickets for US Powerball and Mega Millions on your behalf. Its terms on its Mexico site list PCSO’s 6/55 and 6/58 among its draws, but it doesn’t say publicly whether it accepts players in the Philippines, so check at sign-up. See our Powerball Philippines guide for the draw times in PHT.

How people pick their 6/55 numbers
Some bettors play the same “family numbers” for years, others change numbers every draw, and some swear by patterns on the bet slip. All fine, as long as you know the truth: every combination has the same 1 in 28,989,675 chance, and no number is ever “due”. Many people play birthdays, so tickets made only of numbers 1 to 31 are more likely to share the jackpot. Including higher numbers won’t improve your odds, but it may mean a bigger share if you hit.
