The clauses that void bonuses
A welcome bonus is a deal with conditions, and the conditions live in the T&Cs that most of us scroll past. That’s where bonuses die: not from bad luck, but from one clause nobody read. A spin on an excluded game, a bet on both sides, a second account in the same household, and the bonus plus everything won with it can be gone. Very sian.
The good news: there are only about a dozen clauses that matter, and they repeat across almost every casino we review for Singapore. Learn them once and you can read any promo page in five minutes lah. Here’s the decoder, with a real example of each clause from our SG reviews:
| Clause | What it means | Example from our Singapore reviews |
|---|---|---|
| Wagering basis | What the multiplier applies to: the bonus, or deposit + bonus | BK8: 12x deposit + bonus (S$100 + S$100 → S$2,400). DK88: 25x the bonus only |
| Game weighting | How much of each bet counts towards turnover | GOD55 live welcome: roulette counts at 25% |
| Excluded games | Games that count 0% | me88 288%: 918Kiss, Mega888, Spadegaming, Relax Gaming and V-Power don’t count |
| Excluded bet types | Bets that never count, on any game | UWIN33: draws, betting both sides, roulette on 24+ numbers, odds below 1.50 |
| Max bet | The biggest stake allowed while a bonus runs | No figure in our SG reviews: ask live chat first |
| Time to clear | Days you get to finish the turnover | DK88: 10 days. BK8, GOD55, me88, Maxim88: 30 days |
| Claim window | How long the offer stays open to you | DK88: open for 60 days after you register |
| Max cashout | The most you can withdraw from bonus play | UWIN33 S$10 free credit: one withdrawal of S$50–100 |
| Win cap | A daily limit on winnings | GOD55 entry (Bronze) group: S$3,000 a day |
| Min / max deposit | The deposit range that qualifies | Maxim88 288%: from S$100. me88 288%: deposit capped at S$1,000 |
| One at a time | No stacking with other promos | BK8: promos can’t be combined |
| Wallet lock | Limits on the provider wallet holding the bonus | Maxim88: no new top-ups to that provider until turnover is done or you cancel |
| Payment rules | Offers tied to how you deposit or withdraw | Maxim88 crypto track: one PayNow top-up and you’re out |
| One account | One account per person, household or IP | me88: one per person, household and IP address |
The rest of this guide takes these clauses one group at a time, with the maths in S$. If wagering itself is new to you, start with our wagering guide and come back.
Wagering basis: bonus only vs deposit + bonus
This is the clause that makes two “25x” offers completely different. The multiplier either applies to the bonus only, or to the deposit plus the bonus (D+B). On a 100% match, D+B doubles the work.
To compare fairly, convert everything to the bonus basis:
Bonus-basis multiplier = D+B multiplier × (deposit + bonus) ÷ bonus
Here’s how the current SG welcome offers convert, using S$100 deposits:
| Casino and offer | As written | Bonus-basis multiplier |
|---|---|---|
| BK8 100% | 12x deposit + bonus | 12 × 200 ÷ 100 = 24x |
| DK88 100% (588% pack) | 25x the bonus | 25x, no conversion needed |
| UWIN33 100% (slots) | 15x deposit + bonus | 15 × 200 ÷ 100 = 30x |
| Maxim88 288% | 28x deposit + bonus | 28 × 388 ÷ 288 ≈ 38x |
| me88 288% | 35x deposit + bonus | 35 × 388 ÷ 288 ≈ 47x |
| GOD55 255% | 35x deposit + bonus | 35 × 355 ÷ 255 ≈ 49x |
| AW8 150% | 35x deposit + bonus | 35 × 250 ÷ 150 ≈ 58x |
AW8 prints its own example: [S$50 + S$75] × 35 = S$4,375 of turnover on a S$75 bonus. That’s why we always show the bonus-basis number on our reviews and on the low-wagering shortlist: it’s the only apples-to-apples way to compare.
Durian tip: when a casino prints its own worked example (BK8, GOD55, me88, AW8 and UWIN33 all do), trust that over the headline. It shows exactly how they’ll count your turnover.
Game weighting and excluded games
Game weighting (or contribution) is the share of each bet that counts towards turnover. Slots usually count 100%, live casino and table games typically 0–20%, and some games count nothing at all. Play the wrong game and you can spin for hours without moving the meter, or worse, give the casino a reason to void the bonus.
What our SG reviews actually found:
- Slots-only welcomes are the norm. DK88 counts only the slots on its “Games for Wagering” list. GOD55’s 255%, me88’s 288% and BK8’s 288% are slots only, each with its own excluded studios: GOD55 leaves out Gemini, Microslot, 918Kiss, Mega888 and Pussy888; BK8’s 288% leaves out CQ9, Fa Chai, Relax Gaming, Dragoon Soft, Mega888 and 918Kiss.
- Fishing is a coin toss. Maxim88’s 288% counts slots and fishing, and BK8’s 100% slots bonus includes fishing, but AW8’s 150% excludes it. Our fishing games guide lists every SG offer.
- Live bonuses have their own exclusions. GOD55’s live welcome excludes Evolution and Motivation and counts roulette at 25%; Maxim88’s excludes AE Sexy; BK8’s excludes Sexy Casino and Dream Gaming. Our Dragon Tiger and Sic Bo guide covers the live offers.
- Some bet types never count. UWIN33 lists draws, betting both sides, voided games, roulette rounds on 24 or more numbers, odds below 1.50, 3 Pictures, Casino Hold’em, poker, RNG games and 4D. Any bet outside your chosen game type lets UWIN33 forfeit the winnings.
- Sports bonuses have their own traps. BK8’s and Maxim88’s sports welcomes don’t count M9Bet, and both Maxim88 and me88 don’t allow bonus money on outright bets.
Mega888 and 918Kiss usually sit outside the main welcome and get their own offer, counted in winover (a balance target) rather than turnover: BK8’s 150% up to S$300, me88’s 120% up to S$300 and Maxim88’s 100% up to S$200 are all 8x winover, and GOD55’s 100% up to S$50 is 4x winover with payout capped at S$688. Pick the offer that matches the game you’ll actually play.
Max bet, expiry and max cashout
Max bet while wagering
A max-bet clause caps your stake per spin or hand while a bonus is active. Break it, even once, and the casino can remove the bonus winnings. None of our seven Singapore reviews found a published max-bet figure, which doesn’t mean there isn’t one. Before your first spin, ask live chat leh: “What’s the maximum bet while this bonus is active?” Screenshot the reply. Paiseh to ask, but much less paiseh than losing a big win over a S$0.20 difference.
Expiry: the claim window and the clearing clock
Two clocks run on most offers. The claim window is how long the offer stays available to you; the clearing clock is how long you have to finish the turnover once you’ve claimed it.
| Casino | Claim rules | Time to clear |
|---|---|---|
| DK88 | 100% bonus open for 60 days after you register; the 288% extra and free-spin drops are activated before you deposit, within 7 days | 10 days |
| BK8 | Welcome Bonus only as your first promo application | 30 days |
| GOD55 | Once per new member, code picked at the Transfer step | 30 days |
| me88 | 288% runs 1 April to 31 December 2026, for members who haven’t joined another promo | 30 days |
| Maxim88 | One welcome per account, before any other promo | 30 days |
Turn the clock into a daily target before you claim. DK88’s S$100 bonus at 25x is S$2,500 in 10 days, about S$250 a day. BK8’s S$2,400 over 30 days is only S$80 a day. If your next ten days are busy, the longer clock may suit you better than the lower multiplier.
Max cashout and win caps
Max cashout limits what you can withdraw from bonus play; a win cap limits what you can win in a day. They mostly bite on small and free offers:
- UWIN33’s S$10 free credit: 5x turnover (S$50 in bets), then one withdrawal of S$50–100; anything above S$100 is forfeited, and no crypto cashout.
- AW8’s S$10 free credit: 12x turnover, max cashout S$100, to a Singapore bank only.
- DK88’s free-spin drops: the 38-spin drop is capped at S$70, and each day of the 90-spin drop at S$100.
- GOD55’s daily win cap: S$3,000 for the entry Bronze group under its Singapore T&Cs, rising by group; winnings above the cap are forfeited. Ask live chat which group you’re in before a big session.
Wallet locks, stacking and the cash-first order
Many Singapore casino sites run on transfer wallets: you deposit into a main wallet, then move money into a game provider’s wallet to play. At GOD55, me88, Maxim88 and BK8, that transfer is also where you pick the bonus, from a promo-code dropdown. Skip the dropdown and the money lands without the bonus. At DK88 the 100% bonus switches on with your first deposit, and at UWIN33 you choose it as you submit the first deposit.
Once a bonus is running, the provider wallet gets locked in one way or another:
- BK8: no second transfer to the same provider wallet until the turnover is done.
- me88: no second transfer to the same provider while the promo is running.
- Maxim88: no new top-ups to that provider until the turnover is done or you cancel.
- GOD55: you can’t move credit out of that provider’s wallet, withdraw, or collect the daily rebate until the turnover is done.
This one hor, plan before you transfer: put in the amount you mean to play with, on the provider you mean to play, in one go.
One bonus at a time. BK8’s promos can’t be combined. GOD55’s welcome can’t be combined with any other offer, UWIN33’s can’t be stacked, and me88 doesn’t let you stack one promotion on another. Maxim88 goes further: the welcome bonus disappears once you join any other Maxim88 promotion, so claim it first.
Cash first, bonus last. With a non-sticky (cash-first) setup, your own money is played before the bonus. Win early and you’re not yet playing on bonus money. With a sticky bonus, the bonus itself can never be withdrawn, only what you win on top. Our SG reviews don’t label any welcome as sticky, but two of them spell out the friendlier order: DK88 uses real money first, then bonus funds, and UWIN33 uses your cash before the bonus. DK88 also lets you cancel the 100% bonus in its Promo section before you start wagering.
Payment, KYC and one-account rules
The last group of clauses has nothing to do with games. It’s about who you are and how you pay, and it’s where bonuses get voided at withdrawal time, after you’ve already done the work.
| Rule | What our SG reviews found |
|---|---|
| Local number and bank | GOD55’s welcome offers need a Singapore mobile number and a Singapore bank account |
| One account | GOD55: one per person, IP address, phone number and bank account. me88: one per person, household and IP address |
| Method-based offers | Maxim88’s crypto-only track: one PayNow top-up and you’re out. UWIN33’s free credit: no crypto cashout |
| Name match | UWIN33 checks your registered name against your bank account at withdrawal; DK88 pays only to an account in your own name |
| Verification | DK88 can hold withdrawals until you’re verified; Maxim88 asks for photo ID before any payout |
| Deposit play-through | me88 and UWIN33 want plain deposits played through once (1x) before a withdrawal |
None of this is hard if you set it up on day one: register with the name on your bank account, verify your ID before your first big deposit, keep to one account per household, and deposit and withdraw by the same method. If a payout ever gets stuck anyway, our withdrawal problems guide lists what to check first.
Worked example: pricing a S$100 bonus
Every bet carries the game’s house edge, so clearing a bonus has an average cost: turnover × house edge. On a slot with a 96% RTP, the edge is 4%. Compare that cost with the bonus and you know what the offer is really worth, before you deposit a cent.
Take a S$100 deposit at BK8:
- The 100% match adds a S$100 bonus.
- Turnover is 12x deposit + bonus: 12 × S$200 = S$2,400.
- At a 96% RTP, the average cost of S$2,400 in spins is S$2,400 × 4% = S$96.
- Bonus minus cost: S$100 − S$96 = +S$4. Roughly break-even, with a bigger balance to play with.
Now the same S$100 deposit across the SG welcome offers:
| Offer | Bonus | Turnover | Average cost at 96% RTP | Bonus minus cost |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| BK8 100%, 12x D+B | S$100 | S$2,400 | S$96 | +S$4 |
| DK88 100%, 25x bonus | S$100 | S$2,500 | S$100 | S$0 |
| UWIN33 100%, 15x D+B | S$100 | S$3,000 | S$120 | −S$20 |
| Maxim88 288%, 28x D+B | S$288 | S$10,864 | S$434.56 | −S$146.56 |
| AW8 150%, 35x D+B | S$150 | S$8,750 | S$350 | −S$200 |
| GOD55 255%, 35x D+B | S$255 | S$12,425 | S$497 | −S$242 |
| me88 288%, 35x D+B | S$288 | S$13,580 | S$543.20 | −S$255.20 |
The biggest percentages give the biggest balances, but on average they cost more to clear than they’re worth. From the top row to the bottom, that’s a S$259 swing sia. It’s an average, not a verdict on your session: you can still hit a big win during a heavy grind, and you can bust out early on a light one. But if you take the same kind of offer again and again, the last column is where you end up. Lower wagering wins, quite simply.
Two levers improve any row. A higher-RTP slot that counts 100% lowers the cost (at 97%, BK8’s S$2,400 costs S$72), and a no-turnover rebate paid on the same spins knocks a little more off. Our RTP and RNG guide shows how to check a slot’s RTP in the game.
The 7-step pre-claim checklist
Run through this before you pick any promo code:
- Find the basis (bonus or deposit + bonus) and convert to the bonus-basis multiplier.
- Price it: turnover × 4% for a 96% slot. If the cost is well above the bonus, think twice.
- Check the game list: your favourite slot, fishing title or table must count, and its studio must not be excluded.
- Check the clocks: the claim window, the days to clear, and whether you activate before depositing.
- Check the caps: max cashout, any daily win cap, and the max bet (ask live chat if it isn’t printed).
- Check the mechanics: where you pick the code, what the wallet lock does, and that nothing else is already active.
- Check your account: name matches your bank, ID verified, one account, and the deposit method qualifies. Screenshot the terms before you claim.
Five minutes, and you’ll have caught every clause in the decoder table.
When to skip the bonus
A bonus is optional, and for some players the smarter move is to say no thanks:
- Live and table players. The big welcomes count slots, and the live welcomes come with studio exclusions. You’ll often get more from no-turnover rebates: me88 pays 0.2% to 1.2% by game and tier, Maxim88 0.3–0.8% on live baccarat and roulette, claimable hourly. At GOD55, claiming a bonus actually pauses the instant rebate, so playing without one keeps it running.
- Crypto players. The crypto offers carry far lighter turnover than a match: BK8 and GOD55 each pay 2% on S$500+ of weekly crypto deposits (up to S$1,888, 3x), me88 adds 1% back on S$500+ crypto deposits (1x), and Maxim88’s crypto-only track pays an extra monthly rebate and cashback at 2x. Compare them on our Singapore crypto hub.
- Quick cash-out players. A bonus means a wallet lock and a turnover target. Without one, UWIN33 asks only 1x of a plain deposit before you withdraw, and BK8’s rebates pay out with no turnover at all.
The rebate maths is simple: S$5,000 of slot spins at BK8’s 0.7% returns S$35 with no strings, no clock and no wallet lock. Not exciting, but it’s money you can withdraw straight away.
Where to claim a fair bonus in Singapore
These three have the lightest welcome terms we’ve found for SG players:
- DK88: the cleanest basis. The 100% Slots Welcome Pack up to S$1,288 (part of the 588% pack up to S$2,588 + 128 free spins) needs 25x the bonus only within 10 days, real money is used first, and verifying your email and phone adds 38 no-wager free spins. Deposit by GrabPay, bank transfer or crypto; no PayNow.
- BK8: the lightest turnover. 100% up to S$300 at 12x deposit + bonus (24x the bonus) from S$50, with 30 days to clear and fishing included on the slots version. After that, the hourly 0.7% rebate on slots and fishing has no turnover. PayNow accepted.
- UWIN33: the best small start. Verify your account for S$10 free credit, then take 100% up to S$688 on slots at 15x deposit + bonus (30x the bonus) from S$30, with your cash used first. PayNow and FAST deposits. It rates 2.5/5 with us on trust, so keep balances small and cash out as you go.
More no-deposit offers are on our free credit shortlist, and every current SG offer is on the Singapore bonuses page.
A bonus is extra playing money, not income, so set your budget before you claim and stop when it’s done.
