Wagering, turnover, rollover: all the same thing
When a casino gives you bonus money, it won’t let you withdraw it straight away. Of course lah, otherwise everybody take the bonus and run already. The rule that stops you is the wagering requirement: the total amount you must bet before the bonus, and anything you win with it, turns into cash you can withdraw. Sounds cheem, but actually quite simple once you see the numbers.
Different sites use different words for the same thing, so don’t get blur like sotong:
| Term | Who uses it | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Turnover | Most SG and Malaysian casinos (GOD55, me88, Maxim88, UWIN33) | Total bets needed to clear a bonus |
| Wagering requirement | International sites, DK88’s bonus rules | Same thing |
| Rollover / playthrough | Sportsbooks, US and European sites | Same thing |
| Winover | Mega888 and 918Kiss promos | Usually a balance target, not a betting target |
The most important thing to understand: turnover is the total value of your bets, not extra money you must top up. Spin a S$1 slot 100 times and you’ve done S$100 of turnover, even if your balance only went up and down by S$20 the whole time. Your wins get bet again, and those bets count too. So a S$3,000 target doesn’t mean you need S$3,000 in your account lor. It means you need enough balance to keep spinning until your bets add up to S$3,000.
Turnover vs winover
Winover shows up on Mega888 and 918Kiss offers, like me88’s Mega & Kiss 120% promo and Maxim88’s Mega888/918Kiss welcome, both at 8x winover. Instead of counting your bets, winover usually asks your balance to reach a target. For example, a 3x winover on a S$100 deposit plus a S$100 bonus usually means your game balance must hit (100 + 100) × 3 = S$600 before you can cash out. Every site words it a bit differently leh, so read the promo page properly before you claim.
Bonus-only vs deposit + bonus: the maths that changes everything
Two bonuses can both say “25x” and one of them is double the grind. Eh, how come? The difference is what the 25x multiplies:
- Bonus only: multiplier × bonus.
- Deposit + bonus (D+B): multiplier × (deposit + bonus).
Worked example: S$100 deposit, 100% match, 25x
| Bonus only (25x) | Deposit + bonus (25x) | |
|---|---|---|
| Your deposit | S$100 | S$100 |
| Bonus | S$100 | S$100 |
| Amount being multiplied | S$100 | S$200 |
| Turnover needed | 25 × S$100 = S$2,500 | 25 × S$200 = S$5,000 |
| Same as, on the bonus alone | 25x | 50x |
| Spins needed at S$1 | 2,500 | 5,000 |
Same headline, double the spins sia. That’s why we always convert every offer to the bonus basis before comparing. It’s the only fair way to compare, apples to apples, no wayang.
The quick conversion formula
Bonus-basis multiplier = D+B multiplier × (deposit + bonus) ÷ bonus.
On a 100% match, just double it lah. On bigger matches the gap shrinks a bit, because the bonus is a bigger share of the total. Here’s how it works on real SG offers:
- UWIN33 slots welcome: 15x D+B on a 100% match → 15 × 200 ÷ 100 = 30x the bonus.
- Maxim88 288%: S$100 + S$288 at 28x → 28 × 388 ÷ 288 ≈ 38x.
- me88 288%: S$100 + S$288 at 35x → 35 × 388 ÷ 288 ≈ 47x.
- GOD55 255%: S$100 + S$255 at 35x → 35 × 355 ÷ 255 ≈ 49x.
- DK88: 25x the bonus only → 25x, no conversion needed. Shiok.
Durian tip: When the terms say “D+B” or “deposit + bonus”, double the number in your head for a 100% match before you compare. If the casino prints its own worked example (GOD55, me88 and UWIN33 all do), follow their example lah. That’s how they’ll count it.
Game contribution: why your baccarat bets don’t count
Not every bet counts in full one. Contribution is the percentage of each bet that goes towards your turnover. This is where many players kena caught, especially Singaporeans who love their live baccarat more than chicken rice.
| Game type | Typical contribution | A S$10 bet clears… |
|---|---|---|
| Slots | 100% | S$10 |
| Fishing games | 0–100% (Maxim88’s 288% counts fishing) | Depends on the promo |
| Live casino (baccarat, roulette, Sic Bo) | 0–20% | S$0–2 |
| RNG table games and video poker | 0–10% | S$0–1 |
| Sportsbook | 100% above minimum odds, 0% below | S$10 at odds of 1.50+ (UWIN33’s floor) |
| Betting both sides, low-risk bets | 0%, and can void the bonus | Nothing |
These are typical numbers, so always check the T&Cs of your actual offer. Even at a generous 20%, a S$5,000 turnover would need S$25,000 of baccarat bets. Jialat until cannot.
What our SG casinos actually exclude
- DK88: only the slots on its “Games for Wagering” list count.
- GOD55 255%: slots only, excluding Gemini, Microslot, 918Kiss, Mega888 and Pussy888.
- me88 288%: slots only, excluding 918Kiss, Mega888, Spadegaming, Relax Gaming and V-Power.
- Maxim88 288%: slots and fishing, excluding Mega888 and 918Kiss.
- UWIN33: these don’t count: draws, betting both sides, roulette bets on 24+ numbers, odds below 1.50, 3 Pictures, Casino Hold’em, poker, RNG table games and 4D.
Mega888 or 918Kiss more your thing? Then take the dedicated offer leh: me88’s Mega & Kiss 120% (up to S$300, 8x winover), Maxim88’s 100% up to S$200 (8x winover) or GOD55’s 100% up to S$50 (4x winover, max payout S$688). Don’t anyhow play Mega888 on a bonus that excludes it, sure kena.
The fine print: max bet, time limits, win caps and sticky bonuses
Max-bet rule
Many casinos cap your stake per spin or hand while a bonus is active, and going over can void your bonus winnings. If you can’t find the cap in the promo, just ask live chat before you start lah. A bit paiseh to ask, but better than kena voided after a big win, right?
Time limits
| Casino | Time to clear the main welcome |
|---|---|
| DK88 | 10 days |
| GOD55 | 30 days |
| me88 | 30 days |
| Maxim88 | 30 days |
Ten days is enough if you plan your sessions. On a S$100 DK88 bonus, 25x means S$2,500 in ten days, about S$250 a day, or roughly 250 spins at S$1. Can do one, but don’t claim it the night before you fly to Bangkok lor.
Win caps and max cashout
- DK88: bonus winnings cash out up to 5× the bonus, so a S$100 bonus can pay out up to S$500.
- GOD55: a daily win cap of S$3,000 for the entry member group, with anything above it forfeited.
- UWIN33 free credit: one withdrawal of S$50–100, with anything above S$100 forfeited.
Sticky vs non-sticky
With a non-sticky setup, your real money is played first and the bonus only kicks in after. Win early and you can often walk away with your cash before touching the bonus, quite steady. With a sticky bonus, the bonus itself can never be withdrawn, only what you win on top. DK88 and UWIN33 both use your real money first, which is the friendlier order.
Two more rules people always miss: GOD55 pauses its instant rebates while a bonus is active, and at Maxim88 you can’t make a second transfer to the same provider until the turnover is done or you cancel the promo. Small things, but they can make you sian halfway.
Rebates, cashback and free credit: the low-turnover deals
The welcome bonus gets all the attention, but the real everyday value is in rebates and cashback leh. Most of them have little or no turnover, so the money is basically yours. Shiok.
| Offer | Casino | Turnover |
|---|---|---|
| Instant rebate up to 1.2%, unlimited | me88 | None |
| Instant rebate up to 1%, claimable hourly | Maxim88 | None |
| Daily rebate up to 1.5% of turnover | DK88 | None |
| Instant rebate up to 0.8% | GOD55 | Paused while a bonus runs |
| 5% weekly cashback, up to S$1,688 | UWIN33 | 10x the bonus |
| Crypto-only extra cashback, up to S$16,888 | Maxim88 | 2x |
| Birthday bonus, S$38 to S$1,255 | GOD55 | 1x |
| S$10 free credit for verifying | UWIN33 | 5x, then cash out S$50–100 |
| 38 free spins for verifying email and phone | DK88 | None |
The maths is simple one. Put S$2,000 through the slots at me88 or Maxim88 with a 1% rebate and S$20 comes back with no strings. Not life-changing lah, but over a month it adds up slowly slowly.
Free credit works the other way round: small money, small turnover. UWIN33’s S$10 needs 5 × S$10 = S$50 in bets, then you can withdraw S$50–100 once. DK88’s 38 free spins have no wagering at all, free one leh. Both are on our free credit shortlist. Who say we bo jio? Now you know already.
The real cost of clearing: turnover × house edge
Here’s the part most bonus pages won’t tell you. Every bet carries the game’s house edge, which is 100% minus the RTP. Over a big turnover, your average loss ≈ turnover × house edge. Agak agak, that’s the “price” of the bonus.
On a 96% RTP slot (a 4% edge), a S$5,000 turnover costs about S$5,000 × 4% = S$200 on average. If the bonus was S$100, then on average you’d lose S$100 more than the bonus is worth. Not guaranteed hor, you can still heng and hit a big one, but that’s the average over many players.
Now apply it to the real SG offers, at a 4% edge:
| Casino and offer | Bonus-basis wagering | Avg cost to clear each S$1 of bonus | Example |
|---|---|---|---|
| DK88 588% | 25x | S$1.00 | Roughly break-even on average |
| UWIN33 100% (slots) | 30x | S$1.20 | S$100 bonus → S$3,000 turnover → about S$120 |
| Maxim88 288% | ~38x | S$1.51 | S$288 bonus → S$10,864 turnover → about S$435 |
| me88 288% | ~47x | S$1.89 | S$288 bonus → S$13,580 turnover → about S$543 |
| GOD55 255% | ~49x | S$1.95 | S$255 bonus → S$12,425 turnover → about S$497 |
See the pattern or not? Lower wagering wins, every time. A huge percentage with heavy turnover can cost more than it gives on average, while DK88’s 25x bonus-only offer gives you a bigger balance at roughly no average cost, plus any lucky hit up to its 5× cap. That’s why it leads our low-wagering shortlist, steady lah.
You can trim the cost further by picking a higher-RTP slot that counts 100%. At 96.71% RTP, like Big Bass Bonanza’s default version, the edge drops to 3.29%, so S$5,000 of turnover costs about S$164.50 instead of S$200. Just make sure the casino runs the full-RTP version hor. Our RTP and RNG guide shows you how to check in ten seconds.
Step-by-step: how to clear a bonus without getting voided
- Pick a low-wagering offer. Start from our low-wagering list and convert everything to the bonus basis.
- Read four lines of the T&Cs: the basis (bonus or D+B), which games count, the time limit and the max cashout. Five minutes only, can or not?
- Chope it the right way. DK88 makes you choose at sign-up. GOD55, me88 and Maxim88 want you to pick the bonus from the promo-code dropdown when you transfer to a game wallet. UWIN33 lists it at your first deposit. Miss the step and no bonus, no second chance.
- Deposit the easy way: PayNow at GOD55, me88, Maxim88 and UWIN33 (see our PayNow casinos), or GrabPay at DK88 (our GrabPay casinos).
- Choose a slot that counts 100% and runs its full RTP version.
- Size your bet to the turnover. S$3,000 at S$1 a spin is 3,000 spins; at S$2 it’s 1,500. Smaller bets survive the cold patches better, as our slot volatility guide explains.
- Track progress in the bonus or turnover tracker, and don’t drift into excluded games.
- Play normal bets. No betting both sides, no hedging. That’s the fastest way to kena voided.
- Verify your ID early, so the cashout isn’t stuck when you finish.
- Turnover done? Withdraw. Don’t let a cleared balance sit there and slowly drip back.
Singapore casinos compared: wagering at a glance
| Casino | Welcome offer | Min deposit | Turnover as written | Bonus basis | Counts on |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| DK88 | 588% up to S$2,588 + 128 free spins | S$50 | 25x bonus only | 25x | Slots on the wagering list |
| UWIN33 | 100% up to S$688 (slots) | S$30 | 15x D+B | 30x | Slots |
| Maxim88 | 288% up to S$288 | S$100 | 28x D+B | ~38x | Slots and fishing |
| me88 | 288% up to S$2,880 | S$50 | 35x D+B | ~47x | Slots, with exclusions |
| GOD55 | 255% up to S$2,550 | S$30 | 35x D+B | ~49x | Slots, with exclusions |
Who should chope what:
- DK88 is our top pick for wagering: 25x the bonus only, plus 38 no-wager free spins for verifying. Pay by GrabPay or crypto. For slots players, very hard to beat.
- UWIN33 has the lightest deposit + bonus terms in SG at 15x on slots, plus PayNow. Keep your balance small and cash out as you go.
- Maxim88 suits bigger deposits: its 100% slots welcome (up to S$300 at 12x) clears faster than its 288%. Deposit S$300, get S$300 and you need 12 × S$600 = S$7,200 only.
- me88 is less about the welcome and more about the unlimited 1.2% no-turnover rebate after.
- GOD55 gives the biggest percentage from just S$30, but the 35x D+B is heavy. Its 10% Unlimited Reload on slots (up to S$188 at 8x) is the lighter option.
Common mistakes and a mini glossary
The mistakes we see again and again, don’t say we never warn you:
- Chasing the biggest percentage. Bigger percentage means better deal meh? Being kiasu about 288% vs 100% means nothing without the turnover.
- Missing the “D+B” bit. Double the number for a 100% match, every time.
- Clearing on live baccarat. At 0–20% contribution, it’s a very long road.
- Forgetting the clock. DK88 gives 10 days; the others give 30.
- Opposite betting. Red and black together, or Banker and Player together, can void everything.
- Not verifying early. Finish KYC first, then the cashout is smooth.
